Overview

Certificate in Business Fundamentals course aims to provide an ideal foundation for individuals to offer professional business services across a range of industries. The Certificate in Business Fundamentals course is an entry-level qualification for secondary school graduates seeking further study in the business-related major; those seeking entry into higher-level business positions, or those with professional experience in a range of industries. Students who complete this qualification can undertake further business studies, including studies in both the Diploma in Business and other Business-related majors.

Entry Requirements:

Students need to meet at least one of the following academic requirements:

  • Pass in GCE N Level at least 3 subjects;

  • Have a minimum of 9 years of formal education or equivalent(English or Chinese taught)

Age Level

Candidates must be a minimum of 16 years of age at the time of application.

Language Level

Students need to meet at least one of the following language requirements:

  • English proficiency may not be required if the applicant possesses the highest qualification where English was the sole medium of instruction

  • A Pass in GCE “N” English;

  • At least attainment of IELTS 4, or equivalent

  • Pass the internal English language placement test in Chasewells Management College.

  • Those who cannot pass the internal English language placement test must complete and pass the Certificate in General English-Intermediate course in Chasewells Management College.

Module Synopses

  • Fundamentals of Business and Management

This module introduces the Business and Management fundamental concepts and knowledge to beginner students or non-business undergraduates to prepare them to understand the dynamics of the business world.

  • Business Communication

This module seeks to equip students with basic communication skills on the relationship-building and negotiation skills required by specialized sales and marketing personnel and managers in the industry.

  • Principles of Marketing

This module aims to help students to develop a better appreciation and understanding of the role of marketing in a business organization specifically, marketing theories, principles, strategies, and concepts and how they are applied in our society at large.

Assessment:

Students will be assessed by a combination of class attendance and examinations

Academic Award

Students must pass all modules to complete the course successfully and to be awarded a Diploma in Business Management by Chasewells Management College.
