Advanced Diploma in Logistics Management (Mandarin)

Module Synopses

This course carries a total of six modules that the students must undertake to attain their Advanced Diploma in Logistics Management. Listed below are the module synopses:

  • Strategic Management

The Strategic Management course is designed to explore an organization’s vision, mission, examine principles, techniques, and models of organizational and environmental analysis, discuss the theory and practice of strategy formulation and implementation for the development of effective strategic leadership.

  • Operation Management

In this module, the knowledge of operations managers dealing with a major issue in any business – how work gets done: setting up processes, uncovering the biggest bottlenecks, fine-tuning processes to save time and money, managing resources for smooth production of value.

  • Entrepreneurship

The curriculum is focused on three key aspects: 1) the individuals’ traits, skills, and attributes that make entrepreneurs successful, 2) the business ideas, how to generate them, where to look for them, how to expand them, and 3) how to ensure they are valid business ideas with potential to meet profit goals.

  • Macroeconomics

This course provides an introduction to the economic analysis of key macroeconomic variables such as output, employment, inflation, interest rates, and the workings of the whole economy, and the various interactions among households, businesses, governments, and the international economy.

  • Global Logistics Management

This module was developed to provide students with an overview of the international logistics function within a firm. Students will learn how Logistics impacts other areas of International Supply Chain Management, Methods of entry into Foreign Markets, Incoterms, International Commercial Documents, and International Insurance.

  • Purchasing and Procurement Management

This module will empower students with knowledge of the entire gamut of activities necessary for effective procurement management. The basics of procurement, including what a supply chain looks like, the purchasing cycle, essential tools, and strategies for making the best purchasing relationships work will be covered in this module.

Entry Requirements

Students need to meet at least one of the following academic requirements:

  • Obtained Polytechnic Diploma or Private Diploma in any field

  • Pass in “A” Level in at least one subject or equivalent qualifications

  • Applicants with non-standard entry qualifications (e.g. other PEI’s Diploma qualification, lack of equivalent Year 12 in the home country, etc), above 30 years age and have at least 8 years working experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis

Age Level

Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age at the time of application.

Language Requirements

Students need to meet at least one of the following language requirements:

  • English proficiency may not be required if the applicant possesses the highest qualification where English was the sole medium of instruction;

  • An IELTS score of at least 5.5 or equivalent;

  • Pass the internal English placement test;

  • Obtained the Certificate in General English (Upper-Intermediate) in Chasewells Management College.

Course Duration: 8 months

Course Mode: Part-Time

Assessment:

Students are assessed on a major assignment, class attendance, and written examination. Students are requested to pass a minimum score of 50% from the overall assessment of each module.

Academic Award

The Student must pass all modules to complete the course successfully and to be awarded Advanced Diploma in Logistic Management by Chasewells Management College.
