The Academic Board is set up by the Board of Directors of Chasewells Management College which is the principal policy-making and advisory body on all academic matters relating to and affecting the college’s teaching, research, and educational programs. It reviews the policies, programs, and all matters relating to students, including admission criteria, course content, course delivery, lecturers’ assessment. It is responsible for assuring academic standards and quality and in fulfilling this function, ensures academic freedom, integrity, and high standards in teaching, assessment, and admissions.

Functions

1) Developing the policies and procedures to ensure academic quality and rigor such as:

  • Setting and maintaining the highest standards in teachers’ training and course development

  • Formulate and review policies, guidelines, and procedures for courses

  • To ensure that the content and duration of the modules or subjects, as well as the entry and graduation requirements, of course, are appropriate

  • Make recommendations to the Management on any major changes to the academic structure of the Academy;

  • Set requirements for the admission and registration of students;

  • Set standards for examinations and assessments;

2) To approve each teacher to be deployed to teach any course offered or provided by the college or any module or subject thereof, after determining that the teacher possesses the minimum qualifications and experience and other criteria prescribed in Regulation 26 (Private Education Regulation 2009) and

3) Facilitating the PEI’s implementation and compliance with the policies and procedures developed; and

4) Reviewing, at least once a year, the academic policies and procedures.
